Corrections Made to LEO AWARDS 2007 Nominees

May 10, 2007: Vancouver — A number of craft nominations for the LEO AWARDS 2007 were recently announced either in error or completely omitted from being announced. “I take full responsibility for this error and sincerely apologize to those affected for the inconvenience and embarrassment this has caused.” says LEO AWARDS president Walter Daroshin. “We received an accurate nominee list from our accounting firm Ernst & Young and in the process of posting to our web site last Friday experienced a breakdown in our systems. This resulted in approximately 20 errors in posting. Unfortunately it meant some individuals were announced as nominees in error and some of those nominated were not announced at all.”

"Advising people that their name was posted in error has been the single most difficult thing we've ever had to do. Our objective is always to honour the decisions of our juries, which made removing some names and adding others necessary. As much as we absolutely had to advise the nominees we also had to advise those individuals whose names were posted in error. This action in no way was a result of anything other than an internal systems error and the list of nominees currently available on our web site is a true and accurate reflection of decisions made by our juries."

Lui Petrollini, partner at Ernst & Young LLP Chartered Accountants who initially tabulated the ballots has confirmed that the nominee list now posted on the LEO AWARDS website accurately reflects the nominee list previously provided by him to the LEO AWARDS . “It’s unfortunate that this has happened but I want to reassure the entire community that the LEO AWARDS adjudication process is above reproach”. The complete list of nominees can be viewed at www.leoawards.com.

Winners in 76 categories will be announced at two separate ceremonies where, in addition to Program and Craft awards, two Outstanding Achievement Awards will be presented.
