2015 Leo Awards Hosts
Gala Awards Ceremony
Sunday, June 14

Christopher Heyerdahl

Christopher Heyerdahl continues to co-star as ‘The Swede’ in the 5th and final season of AMC's hit series Hell On Wheels. He enjoyed shooting a number of TV roles this year, ranging from The Electrocutioner on Gotham, Shaman Derek in A Girlfriends Guide to Divorce, Farmer Olaf in Dig and a manic visionary film director in Rush. Christopher recently shot a co-starring role in Judd Apatow's Pee Wee's Big Holiday with Paul Reubens.

You can take the man out of the mountains but you can’t take BC out of the man. When not globetrotting for work or pleasure, Christopher loves nothing better than returning home to dive in the waters of English Bay, jump on a bicycle or motorcycle, or stroll along the paths of Stanley park.

Christopher would like to thank the LEO AWARDS for their continued support of the BC film and Television industry. He is very proud to be one tonight's nominees for both Eadweard and Hell On Wheels.

Kalyn Miles

Kalyn is known mostly for public intoxication, wearing wolf t-shirts to funerals, and yelling at newborns when they're being belligerent. Her accomplishments include hosting CityTV's Get Stuffed, in which she gained 30lbs in 6 months, writing and acting in a local sketch comedy show, in which she lost 14 friends in 3 months, and hosting last years Leo Awards, where she took home 5 Leo's, a very impressive feat considering she was not nominated for any.

She's hosting again this year, with her friend and colleague Aubrey Arnason, and like many of you, she is excited to see if the evening ends in hugs and tears of joy, or sucker punches and un-friending each other on Facebook.

Aubrey Arnason

Aubrey is known for hosting Shaw TV’s The Wedding Belles and The Proposal, although she has neither had a wedding nor been proposed to, needless to say both shows have been cancelled. She is a 12 time Leo award nominee for writing, hosting and producing. In 2014 Aubrey was awarded a Leo for Best Host in an Information or Lifestyle Series.

Recently she wrote and starred in the Crazy 8s film, Kindergarten Da Bin Ich Weider. She and Kalyn Miles co-directed the film and since their friendship survived that test – barely – she thought it would be a good idea to test it again and co-host the Celebration Awards together, she'll be accepting applications for a new bff following the show.

Veena Sood

has been a member of the Vancouver film & television community for nearly 30 years. She’s well known known for her versatility in theatre, film, television, cartoon voices, improv comedy, and hosting.

She’s been a series regular on 5 different TV series, as well as co-hosting her own CBC talk show, TV specials, galas, awards events, and corporate functions throughout Canada. Veena is a 3 time Jessie Richardson nominee & winner, as well as a Leo Award winner for her work. Because she does a damn fine Indian accent, Veena is much funnier than Paul McGillion, who can only do Scottish.

Paul McGillion

Paul McGillion is an award winning actor/producer. Best known for his role as the lovable Scottish doctor on Stargate Atlantis, Paul has a long standing relationship with the Leos, having been nominated five times, taking home two of the golden lions. Upcoming projects include Disney's Tommorowland, ABC's The Whisperers, and CBC's Full Flood.

Paul has worked in Vancouver for over 20 years. He is well loved and respected by the community (only because I work all the time! I am so glad I'm a dude - don't print this).
