Don Thompson
With over 40 years of experience in Production and Post Production, Don Thompson has helped found or inspire growth in many well-known companies in Vancouver, LA and Toronto including Finale Post, Image Engine VFX, Shooters Production Services, The Eyes Productions, and Airwaves Sound. His roles have ranged from Post Executive, Producer, Director, Editor and Cameraman, with creative credits in feature films, television, commercials, live sports and music, and cutting-edge documentaries.
Don is actively involved in Vancouver's Production community. He is the past Chair and a Founding Director of the Vancouver Post Alliance (VPA), a past Director of the Motion Picture Production Industry Association (Screen BC), a Director of the Motion Picture Arts & Sciences Foundation of British Columbia (Leo Awards), Founder of the Vancouver Creative Lounge networking series, and past Chair of the Whistler Film Festival.
Don is passionate about helping Vancouver’s production and post production community reach its full potential and has dedicated a large portion of his energies into inspiring the next generation through mentoring and skills development. He is currently a strategist for Flow Post Partners, a new post facility in Vancouver, and continues to lobby for and market Vancouver’s post and production sectors to the Hollywood studios.
As Don also expands his life outside of production, he has embraced relaxation on the beach in Hawaii with his partner Lisa, travel through Europe with his children, and exploring new interests at home.
